New Events for May/June 2010

Brothers - sent out an email today over the listserv about a couple events coming up (if you're not on the listserv, just click here).

First up will be a happy hour next Wednesday (5/26) at Elephant & Castle near Metro Center. It'll start around 6:00pm. You'll have to buy your own drinks, but the Alumni Board will supply some food.

The second event will be a trip to Nationals Park to see the Nats take on the Cincinnati Reds on June 6. Tickets will by $15 for dues-paying alumni and $20 for everyone else. The more the merrier, so bring significant others, kids, etc. Please RSVP to Dan Anthony no later than Friday, May 21 so we can order group tickets.

Please pass this along to any alums that might be interested.

Skeet Shooting - October 25, 2009

Another great outing for the alumni association. We shot 12 gauge shotguns out in Maryland for the day. Awesome time!

Wanted to say thanks to everyone that showed up last night for the game. Despite some shitty weather (and first half play by the Americans), I think everyone had a great time.

Kevin Burkett and the LCA Education Foundation

Brothers,

Thanks to your contributions, we managed to raise more than $1000 for
the LCA education foundation in memory of Kevin Burkett. Please find
attached a photo of the engraved brick which bears Kevin's name and
delta xi number can be found in front of LCA hq.

Kevin's passing brought together brothers young and old including those that never knew him. Our bond is strong and I urge all of you to continue supporting both our undergrad chapter and alumni association.

Alumni Golf Tournament: August 2, 2009

Brothers,

The prestigious Lambda Chi Alpha Alumni Golf Extravaganza is being planned for Sunday, August 2, 2009. I am looking at 4 different courses in the Northern Virginia area, all courses that we have not brought this esteemed tournament to in the past. They are:

Forest Greens Golf Club

Pohick Bay Golf Club

Greendale Golf Club

Ospreys Golf Club

All of these courses are fairly inexpensive and should be fun to play with a large group. The price will be between $40-$50 per person and will include all of your golfing fees. We will be planning an after party that will be covered by the Alumni Board either at the clubhouse or another watering hole closer to DC.

The format will be a scramble. To spice things up, every beer your team drinks will be stroke off of your team's score (you will need to provide cans for proof). Each team will also have a hole designated to them and the combined total of beers consumed by the other teams on your teams hole will be added to your score. There will be prizes for lowest score gross, lowest score with beers consumed (taking into account the beers you drink and the beers the other teams drink on your hole), as well as long drive and closest to the pin contests.

I am hoping to put together at least 5 teams of 4 people. Please let me know ASAP if you will be able to attend.

Congrats to the Undergrads on a Successful Spring Semester

Having just received the spring grades, I would like to congratulate the undergrads for a fine academic semester.

Both the fraternity's semester and cumulative GPA - 3.18 and 3.15 - were above the all-fraternity averages of 3.13 and 3.11 and a significant improvement from past semesters.

Keep up the good work!
